About Our Work

Wood River Studio began as a collaboration between two craftsmen who met at Melbourne Makers Space in Melbourne, Florida, sharing a passion for fine woodworking and metal fabrication. What started in a workspace no larger than a garage grew into a full-service shop with a gallery-style showroom.

Today, Wood River Studio operates under the sole leadership of master craftsman Lenard Kensey, who oversees all production, fabrication, and client relationships — continuing the commitment to craftsmanship and to building pieces that positively impact the homes, businesses, and community he serves.

Lenard Kensey

Raised on a farm in Pennsylvania, Lenard developed an early instinct to understand how things work—often by taking them apart and rebuilding them.

That curiosity grew into a lifelong career in fabrication, invention, and craftsmanship, leading him to design patented equipment, build businesses, construct homes, and master both wood and metal work.

At heart, Lenard is an artist who thrives on solving problems in new ways. Each project at Wood River Studio is an opportunity to create something unique—work that is functional, enduring, and built better than what came before.
